What is the postpartum period, you ask?
I’ll tell you.
It is the 6 weeks that follow the birth of your baby. It is the approximate amount of time that it takes for your body to physically and emotionally recover from either vaginal or surgical birth.
It is the period of time where everyone in your life is celebrating your baby! They are excited to hold and love your little one. After all, it is THEIR niece or nephew, THEIR grandchild, THEIR best friends baby, right?
And that’s great. It is beautiful for you to see those bonds build and for a moment, it fulfills you.
But before you know it, you realize you have unmet needs. You don’t actually know what they are because you’ve never in your life felt this way, but you know that something is not right.
